This is the old Route 80 from the GWB Terminal to Hasbrouck Heights. Service over the GWB was discontinued in the 1980's and rerouted between Passaic and Englewood as the B-80. The service remains today as NJT's Route 780.

Tenafly Asks NJ Transit to Expand Bus Service
Here's an interesting article from the Northern Valley Suburbinate discussing Tenafly residents asking NJ Transit to run some 166 buses on Tenafly and Knickerbocker Roads to make up for discontinued Rockland Coaches service over Routes 14 and 84.

Vintage Bus Schedule Scan Trades
Hi all. I havent posted any schedules in a while, but I would love to trade scans with anyone who has old north jersey bus schedules especially for Bergen and Passaic Counties. I have hundreds of old schedules in my collection - primarily Transport of New Jersey, NJT and Rockland Coaches from the 1980s and newer. Please contact me at NJBus86@yahoo.com if you have any you would like to trade. I hope to get some new scans up shortly.

George Washington Bridge Bus Station Renovation
The Bergen Record is reporting that the long delayed renovation to the GWB Bus Terminal is set to begin and will take about two years to complete. Bus service to the terminal has been decreasing dramatically over the years. It remains to be seen whether the renovations will lead to increased ridership and service.

Northeast New Jersey Metro Mobility Study
This website http://www.nenjmms.com/proj_materials.html
has lots of data from surveys conducted by NJ Transit of riders and bus drivers around Bergen County done in 2009. It shows the ridership levels for many NJ Transit routes, as well as for Shortline and Rockland Coaches. The bus driver feedback in this report includes ideas for new routes, proposes later bus service and provides suggestions to improve existing routes. There is talk of creating an express 171 route to Paterson, called the 170x, to help curb the declining ridership on that line which has decreased 75% due to competition from the jitneys on Route 4.

Bus Rapid Transit for Bergen County
NJ Transit is conducting a study to create a bus rapid transit network throughout Bergen County. They have information about the study, and ask for input from the community at the following website: http://www.bergenbrt.com/
Seems like an interesting idea, but we'll see if it ever happens and whether it will be a successful service.
